Today (Saturday) we're having a day off and spending it at the Speke Resort in Kampala. It's a very smart place on the shores of Lake Victoria and has a large swimming pool.
Juliet was about to apply her sun cream when we noticed that what she thought was sun cream was actually Spanish hairspray. She had been using it all day yesterday at Sanga and wondered why it had not been very effective!

... and people has fatigued everyone and Simon has declared himself to be 'absolutely knackered'!! As I write this we are some way out of Kampala on the main road Progress is slow. I have travelled a lot round the world but have never seen traffic as consistently bad as this. Our driver Joel earns our admiration every day. ...

We went with it, if it gets her on her feet, who are we to push for the winter boots that will keep her feet warm? So two pairs of sock and sparkly skipping shoes it was. First event was a puddle which had iced over and then we had to stop at the railway crossing. The train ...

... Natural beauty everywhere and smiling people, polite drivers, happy sheep even. We are staying in a farmhouse at Old Brown Howe on Coniston Water. It is gorgeous, very quiet, in a woodland setting with a little path to the water's edge. Even before we unpacked we made a cup of tea and took it down to the lake. There was a flock of geese noisily settling down for the night. Other than that, it was so quiet and ...
