... and most of the churches had the bright blue domes. I loved this colour combination. We also got some amazing views of the island and I could really see what the volcano would of looked like before it erupted in 1500BC. When it erupted the ash cloud could be seen from China. When the volcano erupted it caused a tsunami so big that it wiped out the Minoan civilisation in Crete in less than half an hour! After our walk around ...

... for one Jaagerbombs and half price cocktails! The four of us snuck off and stumbled across a very Greek bar with loud horrid Greek music, we did not stay long! A beer on the balcony at our hotel with of the workers who was on night shift and we called it a night! Tomorrow as going to be a huge day of waiting and travelling and waiting. Check out at 10, bus to pick us up at 1.00 to catch a 3.00 ferry for 8 hours... We got to bed back in Athens at midnight... Rome ...

    Plitvice Lakes

Our trip to the Plitvice Lakes in Croatia was very interesting. Getting there wasn't a problem but after discovering the hostel we had booked was in the middle of nowhere and no one around spoke English, it was a little more difficult to get around. We were staying 17km outside of Plitvice Lakes in someone's house in a room upstairs. The people who owned the house hardly spoke a word of English and could barely even tell us how to get to the plitvice lakes. ...
