... a small town can support so many, they were every few blocks. We had googled things to do in Kawaguchiko which came back with a shrine and a lakeside park. We found the shrine which seemed kind of ruined and had a creepy rusted swing set near it. The shrine was all dusty and it didn't look like anyone had been near it in years. We then checked out the park, it's a bit early in the season here because, apart from the cherry ...

... Stop which helped us get back to the hotel. I was very much impressed with the Ryokan style room where you sleep on the floor. They have a low level dining table which is helpful if you chose to have room service. The hotel personnel also helped us in making our bed for the night. We woke up kinda late on Tokyo time, but really it was only 8am for our bodies. All of these time zones changes are difficult for someone who really values her sleep like I do. John is understanding though and let's me sleep until I am happy. We had a slow start to the morning anyway because we had to decide where to go. We eventually settled on an observation point and Hachiko Square.

Tokyo's metro system is super intense. We thought it wasn't too bad last ...

... take the subway in order to get there. Most of the activity takes place at 5am, when they have live tuna auctions, but since they only let the first 120 people in, you have to start queueing up at around 3am to guarantee entry. That was not going to happen for me in this lifetime so I was going to arrive at around midday as the activity dies down after 1pm. Sadly for me this day was a fixed holiday in the fish ...
