... a small town can support so many, they were every few blocks. We had googled things to do in Kawaguchiko which came back with a shrine and a lakeside park. We found the shrine which seemed kind of ruined and had a creepy rusted swing set near it. The shrine was all dusty and it didn't look like anyone had been near it in years. We both enjoyed our first self-made Japanese style dinner and then headed up to the room to watch some TV and rest our feet for the night.

I arrived at the ticket office bang on 12 and was hoping to get the 12:10 but was happy enough to wait for the 12:40. What had totally escaped my thinking was that today was Saturday (let's face it, every day is saturday for me at the moment) and the earliest bus available was at 4:10. I was taken aback by ...

Magical travels of Japan

... Each picture uses around ten slabs of wood. Which are each individually carved by hand with a chisel. Each block giving you a different depth in the picture. Then the desired block of wood is then painted and then placed onto the paper. Each painting takes weeks to do he explained, i just could not believe the skill and time involved. We had to buy one just because it was cool, he was a nice guy, oh and he gave me a can of beer too. We bought a painting of one of the temples ...
