Let me just state that the weather in Bangkok is unforgiving. The humidity will make a simple walk feel like you've been in an all day marathon. Our first full day in Bangkok was spent at the Grand Palace by taking the sky train and the Chao Phraya express boat. Bangkok is overwhelming. As a local told us in some bar, there are 12 million people and 8 million cars in the city. They all seem to be on the streets at the same time. amazing the buildings have really ornate patterns on them it must have taken ages to build them. We saw a person repainting the inside of the building. We also saw the emerald Buddha, he is made out of jade and has a different costume for each month. the guards had guns it was pretty scary.
