Today I´m headed for Vigo on the Northwest coast. Madrid has been good although tiring. It rained yesterday so I spent the afternoon at the Prado Museum. After that I walked forever, took a few pictures and ate some ice cream. If you´re ever in Madrid I recomend the Museo del Jamon, ham and cheese sandwich + beer = 2euros.

We were expecting tasting sessions, but all it consisted of was a sea of people sitting eating set meals at anything up to €80 a head. No wonder there is a shortage of cod in the UK. The Basque region is very hilly and forest covered, at the relatively high altitude and the Atlantic front this means lots of rain, we had spent the afternoon in Bilbao but the weather had started to get us down and the race was on to actually find some nice weather. Further south towards a town called Haro the landscape seemed to be taking a more stereotypical Spanish look, long roads surrounded by open fields, but surprisingly more mountains ...
