... just as I remembered from nearly 20 years ago. Why hasn't Australia caught up with this trend?

Breakfast the next day was quick and early, as we were trying to beat the crowds at the Minoan Palace of Knossos. We stopped at a local cafe, N got Bougatsa (a custard filled pastry deliciousness), and I got a cheese one. We caught the bus and were at the Palace before most of the crowd, by the time we were 30 mins into our exploration, the tours arrived, and it ...

... the capital of Santorini) off in the (closer) distance.

Once our winery tour had ended we travelled to Fira where we spent the rest of our time in Santorini. Oia is heavily publicised as a place where crowds gather to see an amazing sunset over the Aegean. Naomi's good research warns us we would probably prefer to be back enjoying the perfectly wonderful sunset from our own little perch. ... it was sort of difficult, since all the other tourists had had the same idea (it is kind of known for the sunsets...). It was a beautiful sunset, though, and we all got some great pictures.

Luckily we were able to make it onto the 830 bus, and along the way there met up with Ariana, Nathianel, and Nathaniel's friends, Jen and Emma. They were taking a different bus than us, but it was fun to see them, even for a few minutes among a crowd of people all ...

    Splendid Santorini...

... was totally worth it. Our bike trip to the town of Oia was the most worthwhile trips. The sunset view from Oia was any tourist's must do activity there. We just roamed around and intentionally got lost in the small alleys of Oia. We saw the signature blue dome of the Greek Orthodox Church overlooking the Agean sea - a picture of which will be the main image of anything that promotes Greek tourism. It was getting too cold and we knew we had to head back to our hotel ...
