... of the Air Malaysia flight shot down over the Ukraine killing 298 people (38 Australians), as well as news of the breakout of war again in the Middle East with Israel once again attacking the Palestinian Hamas in the Gaza. The Ukraine is to the west of us and Israel / Palestine to the east of us by only a few hours of flight in each direction. You could say that we are the meat in the sandwich of conflict. Girls and I went to the market to buy peaches, then to the jam packed beach for a swim, before heading back to the little boutique hotel to play a game of volleyball with a beach ball on the tiny cobbled street outside the hotel.
