        ... are hungry!

We continue our tour of Fira and return to our hotel for happy hour. Then we are back to Fira to pick up a gyros pita for dinner. It is like going to Subway except the meat is sliced off a spit.

September 30. It is cool this morning, so we opt for a walk from Fira through Firostefani and Imerovigli. The route follows the Caldera and every time we turn a corner, the view is better. We ...

We arrived back at Fira and climbed the Caldera on the back of Donkeys. It was a fun (and slightly scary) as they go really close to the edge. The final destination on our tour was Oia, located at the north end of the island and provided the best views and photo ops of the day. The village draws thousands of visitors to take in the white structures with blue domes and doors that fill the cliff ...

... to some of the places you could stay down the hill. There were a couple of the big cruise ships in the harbor and so as a result there were many more people in town and in the restaurants.

They look very nice but sure they are more expensive than where we are. Bought some groceries and headed back to the room and fixed a nice dinner and watched the FBI story on television. Interesting movie about J. Edgar and his paranoia.

... any accommodation in the future. Our room wasn't ready so we dropped off our bags and went exploring Thira's undulating white cobbled lane ways and shops. We had a late lunch, I had a lovely Greek salad, Jus had a tuna salad and we toasted with a beer and champagne to ticking off another of our long awaited bucket list destination. The weather is very warm, about 30 degrees, although there was a fantastic breeze flowing through the lane ways and our hotel which ...
