    ... by Venizelos. It was very interesting. All sorts of Cretan products on display.

    We then walked to the Church of the Virgin Mary. This is the main church of Chania. It is quite small in side but very pretty. After our visit to the church, Dennis and I walked back to the ship. We have walked at least 2 miles every day and sometimes as many as four.

    What an amazing way to start a new year. Today is my 34th birthday and I spent the day traveling through the Crete Mountains by bus.  I saw all of the mountain side villages, visited a cave, spent time at the 17th most beautiful beach in the world and ate authentic organic Greek food in a little village.  I met people from Cyprus, Australia and Ireland.     ... dessert and booze at the end.  The first night was the freshest green grapes with Raki.  The second night was coconut pound cake and Raki.  Raki is part of Cretan culture,  It is 37%25 alcohol and comes from grapes after crushing them.  It is stiff!  Couple that with a sweet dessert!
