We all decided that we would order a big plate of the steak tartare. It was a lump of raw meat, with egg yolk, chili pepper, and a few slices of anchovies. Luckily I learnt from our last trip to keep supplies handy so instead of needing to go late at night looking for milk etc I was able to unpack my emergency long life milk, pasta and tin of tomatoes to prepare dinner whilst others showered and we were at least able to eat by 9. Our next stop was the Cologne Christmas Markets where Kate and Roy took to the ice for a couple of hours ice skating while Nathan and Traci headed to the bar for a kinder punch (Traci) and a gluhwein (Nathan) to warm up. Kate and Roy had a fun time skating even if there were a couple of falls!
Our day in Cologne was great and we are sure the memories of this day will stay with us for a long time to come.

A few minutes later the waiter returned to tell us the carpaccio was not available, this was very sad news. We ate our pizza and decided it was time to get the girls across the river to the fair.
