Willie and Kath came up for a few day's at half term in October, to catch up with Sid and Debbie and to get a wee rest if that is possible with two small children!! They went on a pumkin hunt at Blenheim but did not tdo the hunt , instead they had a fish and chip picnic in the park, and ran around with the kids all afternoon. Here are a few pic's mailnly of Maisie and Ruan.
Oxford, England, United Kingdom 1073-2... take advice, talk to people. Special thanks to Joanna and Monika for great tips about China and Russia and general travelling.
9. Equipment - still debating whether we'll take a tent with us :-)
10. Grow my hair long - it's a lot easier to maintain the style then, I think. Given that my hair is curly, I am hoping I won't have to use my hair straightener any more.
11. Give notice at work
About 16 months ago we were walking down the street with my then boyfriend, Michal, discussing what we wanted to do in the future; buy a house, move to another city, travel for a few months. We both agreed that travelling was a far more appealing option than buying a house. Funnily enough when we said that, we'd just passed Trailfinders in Oxford. It would have been a sin not to go in and at least ask about the trip so this is how the idea ...
Oxford, England, United Kingdom mgarman... br>Wandering around the village we browsed numerous antique shops and a shop owned by Prince Charles, although it must have been his RDO because we didn't see him there.
The Snooty Fox, a restored hotel around 500 years old was our next home for the night. Another lovely dinner, this time Grilled Chicken, Lamb and tarty, chocalately things for "puddin" as the local lass serving us called it.

... a couple of jobs, ski resort jobs, retail.. something a bit different to what I do. I did also apply for some computer jobs as well just to see how I go.. As yet nothing!! I'm just wondering if they disregard me because I haven't got my national insurance no yet.. ah well it should be here soon. I'm a bit miffed actually because some of the applications took a bit of time to do and they don't even have the curtesy to even acknowledge your application.

... look like small hills in the middle of the fields, but they are actually buriel mounds made thousands of years ago...pretty amazing!
After a quick stop at some motorway services we were back home, ending what was a great trip away in an amazing corner of the country!
... to bed. Since then I've watched a lot of telly and my bum has seen a lot of couch time. We've been to Bath to see the Roman Baths (which were so much more impressive than anything I saw in Rome), I had a night out in Swindon with a chav who wanted to talk football and punchups all night, we had a Sunday roast at Davina's parents place (which is absolutely amazing, a real english farm), we visited some markets, the church and the cemetary in a nearby village, had my fair share ...
Swindon, England, United Kingdom jimbojohnson... Medicare (like NHS) etc. We are all getting really excited too. Even Kaitlynn has some idea of what's up and I'm forever trying to involve her in all our little activities. Some of the pre-Oz arrival preparation includes making sure that all outdoor goods like golf carts, shoes, door mats etc. are free of all mud and soil. Here's a photo of Kaitlynn helping me with a bit of this pre-prep work. She was absolutely soaked at the end of it all. We ...
Swindon, United Kingdom manics7... tunnels from terminal 3 to 2, and then a road trip to the parking lot. Gorgeous sunny day. Cold enough to have frost on the cars but a welcome relief after the stuffiness of the plane. Nice drive down the M4, picked up the keys to my sisters and had a sleep - wish I could sleep on the plane. Bangers and mash, and G&T for dinner - all very nice.
Swindon, United Kingdom annat22... its spires, and there are plenty of them to go around.
After touring Oxford, we headed to Stratford via the Cotswolds. We were driving through some of the most picturesque countryside you could imagine. The beautiful rolling hills, and off in the distance, you could see village church towers (square towers) rising up above the trees. It’s not the same as the Alps, but it is very pleasing to view.
