Welcome to Greece

... the coast where the road’s edge dropped into the sea. Literally! No curb, no shoulder, no guardrail, no reflectors, no nothing. Just the splash of the waves spraying our bodies as we drove over the heaps of decaying seaweed brought up onto the road. Quiet and serene, but not to last long. Rounding a curve, the road came to a sudden and abrupt end. All we could see was crumbled tarmac and trees growing up ...

The Love-Hate Relationship of Greece, I have

... and everything inbetween has been such a noisence. I don't usually stress or break down or anything, but i can say that yesterday was almost the final straw. I was about 2 seconds away from kicking in some random dude's gyro stand down, i was going to kick his uncleared table full of plates (Because they're soo lazy, they never clean the plates or drinks off the tables anywhere, quickly) and then, i was going to proceed to curse at the top of my lungs while punching ...

Lampiri to Patra

I left the camping site relatively late today. Got my laundry done and enjoyed a lazy morning on the beach. Five Km or so into my ride, on a beautiful coast line road with very little traffic I began to make out a figure in front of me. Wiping my eyes off the accumulated sweat and grease I tried to reaffirm what I seemed to be looking at. Yup, there was a tall skinny guy with a "Tembel" hat, biblical looking sandals, a little old fashion back-pack and a ...

Octopus Attack!

... I would have missed out!

Once we got to our hotel we were excited to head to the beach, only to find that it wasn't really much of a beach, more just rocks. Many of us jumped off the pier and went swimming in the sea, the water was surprisingly cold. I was standing there in the water up about to my knees ...

A CHRONOLOGICAL ACCOUNT OF SKY-TALL EVENTS

... preceding them, and that's the step of losing one's marbles. I told Dimitri that I don't think it's important whether we can fly or not, but I believe a person would be better-off if she believed it was possible to fly than if she believed it was impossible - unless, maybe, she jumped off a cliff. The other recent revelation that struck me, luckily not too hard, was that my lack of friends in the Patra area has largely been self-induced. A caring eighteen-year-old ...
