    Bari is a port town just above the heel of the boot of Italy. We arrived right on schedule (2:20 PM) and took a cab to our next AirBnB in the old city. When I say old I mean old.     Merv tried an expresso today. Been there done that. Don't know how they manage to drink them!. See people at cafes etc. ordering them, seem to swallow them straight down and take off again. Yuck. Think they would be well and truly wired.

    Before we left this morning we walked round the garden. We know that the present owner has had it for 13 years, but we think that before that it must have been a tropical garden of some kind, as there are some very old plants, and he must have taken it over and restored it.     ... suffocating, particularly when I awoke in the night not quite remembering where I was. Fortunately I didn't need the loo as it would have been difficult clambering down the metal ladder.
