... lip adorned with bleached white towns; sloping away to accommodate vineyards and beaches of every colour.

The rest I have to leave to the photos attached as words just don't suffice.

We arrive at our villa and see how these towns are built. The entrance rests on the cliff offering fresh air and stunning views, while the rooms are cut into the volcanic rock which is refreshingly cool on a hot day like today, yet insulating ...

On the caldera side of the Santorini, the houses have been built high up on the edge of the steep cliffs. The capital is Fira, which is nestled into a cliff over 721 feet high. It’s architecture is a mix of Venetian and Cycladic forms.

    Greece - Athens to Santorini

    And we're back!

Our Greek trip continues to Athens. We had been forewarned of it being a dirty city where we would surely have something thumped (stolen/pickpocketed) so we arrived apprehensive. Contrary to this warning, we found Athens was really great. Easy to get transport around, pulling into athens backpackers just in time to catch Melbourne beat Adelaide (yes I was footy deprived, just missing out on the pies beating the blues it was good to see another good team have ...
