... Thera, I passed Roman baths, old mosaic houses and even an old agora, which is a market place. I also got to see the most spectacular views from the Terrace of Festivals, where ceremonies use to be held in honour of the Greek God Apollo, son of Zeus and God of light. Ancient Thera is open to the public Tuesday through to Sunday from 8am to 3pm.

... to make jewellery and souvenirs.

Having taken the advice of the ships on-board announcement and "prepared for disembarkation", Nathan and I were amongst the first passengers off the ferry and onto the bus that would take us to Santorini’s main town: Fira. They gave it to us on empty which I hate but I guess they don't have any onsite gas stations so what can you do. $14 for a gallon and a half, this is worse than Switzerland. The island seems old and not so updated. At night, it seems romantic and charming, at day it seems like a really sunny island with little infrastructure.

We went to the Red Beach which was near their ...

... was a jolly man, very talkative and sweet. "His wee darling wife" as he called her, was quieter and obviously indulged his outgoing nature. When they said goodbye, they were headed to a karaoke spot to drink a little more to be ready to sing on into the night.By this time, we were covered in a salty film from the sea, dust from the roads of Megalochori and had full stomachs. Our night was complete, so we traveled back to our hotel to prepare to leave for Athens the next ...

Fira, Firostefani and Imerovigli- The best scenery

A travel blog entry by my.scuba.tank on Apr 11, 2014

... there is a big space where there is a blue domed church as you approach Imerovigli. I don't really where Firostefani starts or end from Fira as they are pretty close to each other. There are many donkeys along the way, some carrying cement for construction, others for tourist who wants to take a donkey ride up or down to the harbour on the bottom. You can also choose to take the cable car to the harbour or walk down from the paved walkway. Cable car ...
