      Honeymoon's Over?

A travel blog entry by rdkflaherty on Oct 28, 2014

You know you've been married too long when you can't comprehend the world's love affair with Santorini. Gorgeous vistas, yes, but what is the attraction on a small island with little else to do but shop? Oh, sure, I suppose newlyweds would find plenty to fill the time. My husband and I are, however, are traveling with child in tow in an open-concept studio ...

... I can still remember my mother screaming at the donkey driver to stop hitting her donkey. We laughed a lot about that trip. the cable car cost 5 euros/person each way.

... about getting lost, but we backed ourselves and made it through the town centre and all the way to Oia - the cliff high point were the famous sunset is viewed from. Day or night Santorini is just beautiful, especially when you get close to the peak. We kept driving, not really knowing where we were going but ended up at a little bay called Amoudi. A pretty little spot which loved it octopus. There was octopus in every restaurant window and even just hanging up on a line. As ...

After spending quite some time overloaded with the party scene in Mykonos, I wasn't too sure what to expect for my arrival into Santorini.

It was as though when the speedboat pulled up to dock, I had entered a picturesque backdrop that you would only expect to see in movies like Lord or the Rings or something!

Cliffs for days, and unlike Mykonos where the city is below the mountain/cliff tops, Santorini was the polar opposite.

      As I climbed into ...
