A detour to Sparta (Sparti)

Driving along and some roads were quite scary, very narrow and lots of windy roads. We stopped to take a photo of a guy with his sheep. He was cool and let us take a photo of him!

Relaxing trip to Agios Andreas

However, much of our time was just sitting on the beach reading, staring into the distance at the mountains over the other side of the Messinian Gulf and swimming in the gorgeous water. Bliss! We did have more energetic days when we drove the empty lanes up in the hills where the smell of the herbs wafted through the open windows and the views were breathtaking.

Anyway, we soon neared the outskirts of Athens, and I could immediately tell that this was not a place to drive for the faint hearted. There was a stretch of about 10kms where the road had been repaired, but no one had bothered to paint any line markings. A week in Kalamata

Celebrating Kelly's 13th birthday in Stoupa
... for long. The girls wanted a "dance party" on Kelly's birthday and we did our usual playing loud music and dancing while Will and Kelly laugh and think we are all crazy. I rained on the dance party and was telling the girls not to jump so they don't get too hot. Always wrecking the fun!
