The old man told him to be careful because it was fragile and the old man even made motions not to crush the bag. Mr. Grab At Everything took these motions to mean go ahead and please do crush it and throw it in the trash can. Which he actually did right before our astonished eyes and that old man jumped out of that ...

There is a lesson to be learned here from all this. Think about it for a moment...20 years ago this type of display much less selection in Bulgaria would have been unthinkable under communism. In 2009 in our supposed home of the free such a display still is unthinkable. I mean we can't even look at the ...

This began one of the longest driving
days of the entire trip. If you get the chance look at a map of
Cyprus. We left Nicosia and headed to Agia Napa. En route we

... hours later we emerged into the manic crowds lining the Larnaca Airport arrivals hall. There, amid the throng of bodies was our good friend Mary. After we managed to beat our way through the crowds we scuttled off to the car. On our way back Mary announced Hugh is in hospital. We thought it was strange that he didn't come to greet us, most unlike him. It turned out Hugh had decided, in his infinite wisdom, to borrow a mate's angle grinder and have ...

A BIG MISTAKE!!! I discovered in the following trip I had here, that the beach is extended on the other side of the fig tree. Following the small narrow road that leads to other hotels, you come to a long beach with the same colours and quality. It is open sea, calm crystal waters, for every ...
Protaras, Cyprus greekcypriotLARNACA It is July, and we have come to the Island I love again. We are spending 3 nights in a nice hotel in Larnaca, enjoying the sunshine, having some quick visits to relatives, but mostly we are on the beach. The reason I am at this hotel this time is because I enjoy the early morning jogging by the beach. People from Larnaca, as well as tourists walk early in the morning and late in the afternoon ...

Mothers try to feed the children who are playing and making sand castles, and you can hear loud voices and music everywhere. They only leave for their homes quite late - some after midnight. I don't find this idea clever at all, and I believe that in the next couple of years this generation of kids will be overweight, and sick. I don't like the idea of mothers being so pressing on ...
