Day 16 - The Monte Carlo

Getting hungry we found a super market and following in the baguette trend we brought some cheese and game and avocado and sat on the curb eating delicious baguettes after searching for ages to find a laundromat and not a dry cleaning we gave up and went back to the hotel. We return to the ancestral manse
... located in a parking garage. Well, it’s not exactly in the parking garage itself, but just off “Level 0,” which is three circular stories below the “+3” entrance level. I CANNES Not Believe How NICE This Is!

A Nice walk
... surprised at the number of stairs until we reached the top. We had stumbled apon the site where an old castle had stood, however not any longer. What was there was some great views, a bit of a park and an archaeological site. We then headed back down the hill and found our sweet shop, it was closed for lunch (and you thought siesta was Spanish) .This gave us an opportunity to grab a bite to eat.

... soon much busier with shops and cafes. We discovered the trick of following the sun through the town so that you never stop for a beer in the shade. The cathedral was quite properly French inside, which the familiar contrast of grey stone and gold leaf. Amusingly, visitors could make donations to specific saints.
