    ... near Rimini and went to check out the beach. Murphy's law but now it was overcast and down to the low 20s so not much good for swimming. This stretch of coast is apparently Europe's biggest seaside resort, going for 30km. It was all pretty quiet until we got to one road parallel to the beach where everyone was shopping and in restaurants. Natalie found 10 euros which she split with Ben and he promptly went off to a one euro shop and bought some hair gel. ...

    ... over to the island of Burano, which specializes in lace. This time I only bought an inexpensive lace scarf. Both Murano and Burano were less crowded than Venice and were delighful places to wander. Burano is famous for its brightly colored buildings, and it also had more greenery and open spaces, so it was very pleasant. Didn't hurt that we had sunshine and nearly seventy degrees.
