This morning as we headed for the ferry there was a lady standing with her dog and as we watched a small car, already full of dogs, pulled up and the owner gave her dog to the driver of the car. The dog was keen to get in with the others. The car was labelled with "Doggydaycare". Dogs are on the transport - trains/buses etc and sit in and at the cafes with ...

He sang to us and everything! The ride only lasted for maybe twenty minutes, but I was so giddy I got to go on one - even if I had to have my umbrella up the whole time! Chris was wearing his pulp fiction dog shirt I'd picked out for him from Primark, evidently a big hit in ...

... had Austrian beer. It was really yum but quite rushed as we still needed to do our walking tour. Our guide met us at the restaurant and we started the tour. We had to catch the underground to the city centre then start walking. We saw lots of buildings from hundreds of years ago and monuments for napoleon and other figures from hundreds of years ago. He gave us a good summary of Austrian history and also talked about the part Austria played in WWI and ...

... to get on a gondola ride before heading back to the hotel, but we ran out of time since our last bus goes back to the hotel at 10pm. We didn't want to get stuck in Venice so we watched the gondolas with admiration and headed to the bus station.

Although it was a very quick visit in Venice we decided it was worth the visit. We loved the maze of streets, we loved the lack of cars, we loved the beautiful buildings and churches, and the bright ...
