    ... bridge now I've spent a few days in venice, but I still have a very poor mental map of the place. They looked somewhat surprised that I wasn't Italian, though I would highly doubt that they themselves were Venetian. The venetians blend into the laneways and rickety doorways, and seem very private. Next time I visit, I hope to stay long enough to engage into a conversation with one, and learn more about the non-touristy venice. I'll ask them if their beautiful city maintains a romance for them ...

    So.. back to our day. I love the sound of accents (lucky for Grant!!) and listening to Vivana talk about the Marano Horses and the Glass as she rolled her tongue around the words was delightful! Watching the artists create these incredible pieces of art has left us very appreciative of glass work and the heart and soul that goes into each work.     ... It was a really nice dinner, and we got along really well, even with some language barriers where 'mozzies' were mistaken for 'Aussies' which was hilarious.
