... I wasn't that keen to go inside a grotto. But in we went, all ohhhing and ahhing. It was pretty spectacular inside, a cave inside a cave. Expected to see Johnny Depp or his dad, sorely disappointed on that score. It is very "piratey" around these parts and apparently there is a strong, and long, history of piracy in the region. Hence my expectation. From the boat tour we we went walking through the citadel and ...

... with the switch from Italian to French. I really find Italian easy to understand and read - French? No bloody idea. We spent our last hours in Sardinia driving North West to a small town called Santa Teresa where the ferry left from. A really very beautiful little town, and nowhere near as many big yachts as there have been everywhere else. Had a great lunch there: margarita pizza, beer, $10. Of course Roger offered to ...

... great seafood restaurant today - then to a lovely little beach for some relaxing and sun. I love that we have (so far) done three completely different things on this holiday. Lake Como was gorgeous - all beautiful BIG mountains, lakes, ferries and little villages, Tuscany, well, Tuscan, great food, picture postcard views, great wine, history..., and now Sardinia, different again, rugged mountains, beautiful azure blue ...

... has a gorgeous spanish hacienda feel to it, or maybe Mexican? It has a great pool area and we spent a bit of time there in the afternoon just soaking up the sun and the ambience and the wedding guests. Later, hungry, no hotel restaurant last night, we took our selves out to the Porto Rotondo. Some bloody big, spoiled blokes boats there, complete with staff. Found a nice little bar to have a few beers and then walked to a pretty good sea food ...
