Drove back inland today, small winding roads into tiny towns, no one else on the road thank goodness, went through forest areas, olive tree areas, more walled towns, forts, vineyards. To get from where the bus was parked to the top of the hill that Perugia lies on, you have to take the "mini-metro". The only way to describe this is to say it resembles a pod or a ski lift, on rails, that climbs up the hillside. Sort of what you'd imagine transport to look like in a few hundred years!
