... when it's raining. Another observation that I made was that the roads were so narrow to have cars and pedestrians. Pretty bad idea. Later on while we were walking back towards the hotel we saw this Spaniard on the day of his bachelors party...he was wearing a white fairy looking dress. Pretty funny. After our group walk myself and a girl in the group walked around and up a hill in a residential neighborhood. The graffiti was so cool and the views ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands skivail89... the verge of tears. Juan drove me back to Málaga and again helped me to cheer us by focusing on something else. I would never stand for this in the US but I feel because I don´t speak Spanish perfectly and get flustered when I am frustrated that I just can´t do it anymore. I have tried to figure things out and complain and it doesn´t get me anywhere. I just don´t know what to do anymore except just keep my mouth shut and keep on keeping on. I am going to be ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands juliannamargare... be as compact as possible and couldn´t they just be flexible.. No. It was like speaking to a wall. I was so frustrated and felt like I was being ganged up on that I started crying. Finally, after settling down I asked them to just please look at the schedules I proposed and consider them leaving the hard feelings behind us. Fernando took a look and denied them. By this time it was 20 minutes past the end of the school day and my co-worker Juan was waiting for ...
Orgiva, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands debdeb80... below. then to Sevilla, Spain. Nice city-honestly we were recovering a bit from Lagos so took it easy. saw all the sights, but not much nightlife. Now in Granada, spent the day today wandering the Alhambra and getting lost in back allys covered in cobblestone and graffiti. passed by a cathedral just as a local wedding cermnoy ended. saw the bride and groom exit the church doors under sword drawn military ...
Granada, Spain, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands rosiedobbs... visual patterns or in the words of the Koran written in highly stylized patterns. We walked through with our audioguides, recordings that described each room, its highlights, likely uses, and what inspired it. Truly, the home fit for a king. Everywhere, everyone snapped away like crazy in the desire to capture this visit for a lifetime of memories. And of course we did too. As usual, Bonnie maintained her good-humoured patience as I went nuts with my camera. The ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands liliens... continued in another we were soaking up some down time in the hot summer sun.. Prime as it was :-) I was more than Happy to chill with my mates at the villa for a few days but its really just a part of my nature that i cant stay in one place very long as i prefer just to drift and discover new places.. I will admit that at times my spontaneousness can be miss read or not properly understood as i can just pick up and leave upon making a decision.. So the next morning ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands pat_dorsey... upon the Alhambra our breath was taken away. This place was truly amazing, built by the Muslims in the 900's and gradually added to and then taken over by the Christians in the 1400's and changed again. It has a fortress and 3 palaces as well as ruins from the Medina (old city) and gardens with fountains run by springs everywhere. We couldn't believe how beautiful it was, in fact all we could do was rave all day about ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands bellavita... greeting was received with a funny look, I guess you arent supposed to actually kiss the cheek of the other person. oh well. After Tours I made my way to the beach, Biarritz France. after two trains and 6 hours of travel I made it, and walked to the hostel, only to find that it would be closed for the next four hours till the reception opened up again. ****. after mulling about for a while outside trying to decide what to do, someone who worked there was kind ...
Granada, Spain toonk... sitting down and eating my dad befriended a bold orange kitty which proceeded to enjoy most of my dad's sandwich. Then we headed into the Alcazaba, the oldest part of the Alhambra complex, and climbed the towers and took tons of pictures. Then we headed over to the gardens of the Generalife. They are amazing. The were not at their best due to the time of year we chose to visit. However, this was the time of year ...
