... ledges and beautiful shapes and patterns chiselled from the blocks of stone they are made off. Really beautiful way off showing off the buildings, each having a different style and colour. Italy really is a beautiful place but I still can't get used to 3-4 hours lunch breaks where everything closes for the duration. So after an enormous day of walking and sightseeing, we headed back to Fifi and a feast of homemade (not by me) gnocchi and sauce, oh so yummy and well ...

We take pot luck with the ordering and I am treated to what can only be described as a delicious cheesy ham rice pie, and Martin has pasta with fish.

... translates to "cherry-like," and that is what it tastes like--cherries! Mosciame is a very special item that we had yet to see here. I have had it many times at Incanto (my restaurant in San Francisco), as the chef makes his own from time to time. It is salt-cured tuna loin, kind of like a salami made from tuna. At Raibetta it was shaved very very thinly and served with raw tomatoes and dried oregano. The tuna was fishy and salty in all the right ways, and it ...
