Sunday in Eindhoven
Sunday: slept in, had a small breakfast and just chilled.
After a lunch of leftovers, we went for a long walk along the Dommel. Its all very nicely kept parklands on both banks, and it opens up into a large park (Genneper park).
Tonight we're having chicken soup for dinner - nothing too exciting.

Today we ventured into the deep south of the Netherlands, to Maastricht, a small city about an hour south by train from Eindhoven. It's a very pretty, old city on the river Maas, renowned for the shopping and restaurants on offer. It was a beautiful day-sunny and 27 degrees. We did a little shopping in the town of Genk, and picnicked by a lake. We watched the ducks and noticed how they kept driving one poor little duck away ...
A spot of bother with a cloud of ash
... the deliciously sunny weather, this was not a real chore and we passed the train journey back to Eindhoven with a book of crossword puzzles. At least we were stranded "at home" (not too sure where home is at the moment, but let's just say that most of our stuff is still in Holland and the attic room at Mark's mum and dad's has come to feel very familiar and cozy), so we were in a perfect position to make the most of the ash-induced delay: a little work by ...
