We weren't being cooked alive this morning which was a treat due to some excellent pine trees (I have no idea what trees they were really) covering our patch of tent until 8.30. Welcome to Germany! First stop was at Zons, where we picked up a motor coach and a guide to go on a tour of the Cologne Cathedral and old town of Cologne. Our guide, Udo, was particularly entertaining and informative about the cathedral and city. The cathedral is spectacular! The building was started in 1248 and finished in 1880.
