... Cathedrals is often the life work of a few generations within families. No doubt the construction of such would have been pivotal for much community, religious and political power struggles.

So what of Cologne? I haven't researched this in depth but I would imagine that the French feel to the place stems way back to the roots of the Frankish Empire. Happy to be corrected on that...did I mention how good Steve Smith is going? Fair dinkum he will do ...

... very well or clearly, but Dusseldorf... my GOD! They have people talking in both English and German to give directions, but they aren't explaining things well, and they aren't making announcements loudly or something, they have people telling individual things instead of saying "people with these tickets come here, people who don't, you don't have to go through this line. Other people go over there to get more help." No, instead it was ...

... and I sound just like her! Not that Rylee is bad, but I feel helpless not being able to do it for myself. As an adult, I now know how a 2-year-old must feel.

      * People attempt to talk to me and I have NO clue what they are saying. I don't know how to respond at all. Today in a store, a woman was trying to get past me but asked me to move in German and in a low tone. I didn't even know she was talking to me as ...
