Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany marggraf... first. The kids here are now insisting that I will get the flu and I just might, but I don't think it's gonna kill me. 3 of the 5 members of the family who got the vaccine are now sick with fevers and coughs, doesn't sound like a good time to me.
Since I wasn't entirely impressed with the carnival I decided to wander around the altstadt and take some photos for everyone to see. I'm posting some other photos that I took a few days ago as ...

Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany cariverga... that we had not INTENDED to get on a high-speed train, Katie and I arrived in Munich where we met the rest of my friends and Cave-members, Brit, Pat and Jeff! Together we all headed down to my old stomping ground, Salzburg! In Salzburg, Katie and Pat were dragged from place to place as Jeff, Brit, and I reminisced about favorite bars, favorite walks, favorite doener stands. They even got to meet our old English teacher, Gundy, who invited us in ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany jluetkehans... coming home? In July, but whether or not I'll stay is another story.

12.) Do you like it in Germany? Yes, I like it but that doesn't mean I'm going to stay here forever either.

13.) Is it cold there? The weather is basically just like it is in Oregon. It's rainy and once in awhile it snows in the winter, but only a couple of inches. In the summer it's not quite as hot, but that's not a bad thing for me.

14.) What do you miss about ...
Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany torilusk... guidebook. We passed heaps of tiny little German towns with houses that have black roofs and old crumbling castles up on the hillside. The ride was so nice that we figured we didn't need to take a boat ride as we had already seen it. We got a bit lost again on the way to the hostel (these German towns don't have visible street names!) but found it eventually. We had pasta and sauce with tomoatoes for dinner and I (gasp!) finished my plate before Stephen and ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany steveandwhitneySo...sorry I'm really really bad about updating this. It will probably only get less frequent as time goes on because I really have nothing new and exciting to report. I've basically fallen into routine here and most of the stuff that seemed interesting at first has become normal to me. I will say that this week has been pretty fun. Tanya took me shopping and bought me a new bag and a dress which was pretty freakin' awesome of ...

Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany cariverga... seen the Irish country. Westport is on the west coast of Ireland, so I had to take a train across the whole island. The landscape is indescribable. I have never seen such a pastoral paradise. It was straight out of James Herriot, beautiful green hills, crisscrossed by stone walls hundreds of years old, dotted with sheep stamped in blue and pink paint. If I'm ever to be reborn as a farm animal, I hope I'm lucky enough to live in Ireland. The grass seemed greener than ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany jluetkehansOk, Germany is hilarious. I don't have the slightest clue what anyone is saying to me. At least in Italian and French I can semi-understsand. German sounds like jibberish and I can't help but laught when people try to talk to me. The people here are really friendly though! Some speak english but no Spanish. I was a little leary when I got off the train but the station is right in front of a ...
