    ... like a ski lift) up the hill to the Germania monument, built in 1871 for the reunification of Germany then walked the 5kms down the hill. Had a drink, then went shopping & back to the boat for lunch.

    The next part of he Rhine is known for its castles, they were amazing, the cloud then started to move in so went inside for coffee & cake, like we needed more food.

    Got a haircut, really impressed & only €18.

    ... over to Wash World and did laundry. Getting bad weather news from Wacken. They are experiencing quite a bit of rain. We went from 40 degree heat and no rain to 20 degrees and lots of rain! On the ICE train to Hamburg now and then a few more trains to Bad Bramstedt. WACKEN STARTS TOMORROW!!!!! ...

    ... bit dangerous on a hot summers days! This was then followed by a dinner with local specialties - pork, potato salad (which tastes like lumpy luke-warm mashed potato with a hint of mustard). The meal also consisted of sauerkraut (sour cabbage!!!). But all had to be tasted, as this is what travelling is all about.     ... it will never happen (just like they will never politely let you in when you are trying to enter a different lane of traffic on the autobahn). Work as a team in a crowd. One person leads and the other one follows with the kids/stroller. If the bystanders get run over, say sorry later. Americans are supposed to the be rude ones, right?

    ... go over logs, brick, stone, sand, mud, different obstacles and materials. It was really neat and my favourite was the mud and the sand :)

    The weather was very warm (at least 25 degrees!) and we sat outside, ate ice cream, and hung around the area for quite awhile. I had a really good time and if I came back to this area I would love to go back to Schloss Freundenberg. You don't realize how strong your senses can be until you focus on one or take one away.
