It was named the Otter Trail but sadly there were none.

Jenny and Moira would have loved the 2 suspension bridges over the gorge!

Thursday took us to play golf at Fancourt. A lovely day and a very nice course. We had caddies with us which was great. Small world again with one of the caddies asking for Sandy Smith and Patrick who he remembered from their time at Fancourt. Interestingly, no mention ...

Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape, South Africa miles1... at Storms River after passing through beautiful areas such as Wilderness with lovely lakes and coastal bush. At Storm’s River it was dark and we had a room in the gardens so after eating our dinner we brought with us we went to bed. This is an adventure place with canopy rides, tubing on the river and bungy jumps. We were not doing these things so planned a walk in the bush along some nature trails tomorrow.
Knysna, Western Cape, South Africa kasnsqueak... sancturay, the tour was a bit long, but saw some cool cats, and very playful kitten cheetahs. also got attached by a bird, who poked me on the noggin and in the nuts with its beak! went home and cam had another friend who worked on a wine farm, so we met up twith him and had a brie, drank lots of beer, and free wine.and passed out somewhere. i cant remember the last day i have been sober!
Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape, South Africa gez_skip... Hostel, situated deep in the woods. The Wild Tongue was a log cabin in the woods, atop a cliff, so it gave amazing views across a valley of trees and a waterfall. We had a fun time at the wild tongue chilling with the owner for half the evening, and drinking great South African wines. The next day we went down to Storm's River, know for its rough river and shoreline. We did the 1st day of the Otter trail hike, which due to damage ...
Nature's Valley, South Africa drichardson... We then continued along the gorgeous coast line to Buffalo Bay, a backpackers down on the coast, and pitched out tent on the roof of the backpackers (hey, they offered it to us and who were we to resist). However out first nights camping didn't prove to be as successful as we originally planned. While we were in having a few drinks (which appears to be a common theme for this blog) and I was impressing the locals with my pool skills a storm ...
Plettenberg Bay, South Africa dave.arkell... while gigantic waves from the Indian Ocean crashed just below you. The hike culminated at a ten story water fall, where we had lunch and took in the views. Not a bad way to get introduced to the Garden Route. That afternoon we went to Plettenberg Bay. The book describes "Plett" as being a playground for the rich. This would be pretty accurate if there was any body there. The town was engorged with fantasticly large, ornate, homes. All of which seemed to over look the ocean ...
Plettenberg Bay, South Africa natecropp... deadlines and schedules to adhere to. I imagine myself back in the days when Monday mornings meant the start of another gruelling workweek boxed into the sterile cubes with the tap tap tap of keyboards numbing my brain. Ok. I am terribly sorry if you are reading this from that place but hey, I have put in my time. I have earned and paid for this trip in blood sweat and tears not to mention the sanity that slipped away slowly but surely in those last few months. I gaze ...
Plettenburg Bay, South Africa whereshegoesHi, Via the Garden Route we arrived in Plettenberg Bay. We had the intention to stop in Knysna but the weather spoiled our plans. We only stayed here for one night and our next stop will be in Tsitsikamma N.P. Tsitsikamma N.P. protects 100km of coast between Plettenberg bay and Humansdorp including the area 5km out to sea. It encompasses the shoreline, steep cliffs and coastal hills and finishes at he edge of the coastal plateau. The ...
