So today started of around 6 15 with the alarm going off so we could get up eat and head out to Marble Mountain before we had to leave. The mt was only about a 10 min. walk so Nate, Jeff and I decided to walk instead of get a taxi. On the way there, ppl on scooters decided to hassle us and see if we were going to the mt and then they wanted us to shop in their families store on our way back. They were actually very nice, but persistent. We went up the mountain and had to climb a ton of stair...
Dalat, Vietnam bbart0012Hello everyone! So it's 5 45 in the morning and I am making sure that I get my blog done for yesterday. Yesterday the bus was leaving at 6 30 to to go the hospital. Kind of a rushed morning because they only start serving breakfast at 6 or 6 10 and we had to be out by 6 30. I ended up sitting with one of the translators on the way to the hospital. We chatted it up about the city and what not. His name is Wan and he is finishing up school for tourism. He wants to move to Ho Chi Mihn City and b...
Dalat, Vietnam bbart0012Hey! It's sat. morning at almost 6 and i'm tired but need to keep up with my blogs so i don't forget to put anything in. It's crazy here, b/c i really have no idea what day it is, the only way that i know is because someone said something about it being friday yesterday. Anywho, yesterday was another clinic day. Started out the morning early again b/c we were leaving the hotel at 6 30. It was another hour and a half bus ride to the place where we were setting up for clinic. I did not have all...
Dalat, Vietnam bbart0012Hi again. Been two days since i've updated but had a busy 2 days. Started off with our last day of clinic which was a saturday. We had 300 people scheduled for that day but it seemed fairly slow. We had planned on only adjusting a half day and that is what we did. Everyone was ready to be done with clinic and it was good that clinic was slow because if it was not slow, i think some people would have been at each others throats. Mainly because everyone just wanted to be done. I only adjusted 7...

The best thing about this convent is that they home, orphans, homeless children and help children with a disability.

Yesterday we saw a crowd of people standing around a street stand selling fresh banana fritters, we were told we would have to wait as there are a large amount of orders stacked up. I was very pleased to watch the instructors unload the backpack to produce fresh pineapple, lychee, watermelon and bananas. Accompanying the array of fruit was fresh raisin bread and baguettes (unfortunately for me accompanied by the ubiquitous Vietnamese jam, which I have no affinity for). I was happy enough with a ton of fruit.

When we ...

Dalat, Vietnam carrienica05... have seen although Mr Easy Rider was trying to convince me to do a week tour with him where he would take me to the Ho Chi Minh Trail which borders with Cambodia and then he would drive me down to a city from where I could bus it to Saigon. I quickly shut him up when I said "yes, that sounds brilliant but I have no money at all so it's not going to happen". He didn't try to persuade me after that!
