I would stay here again. Well maintained condos. The town is nothing to write home about but it is close to Fish Creek which has lots of shops and restaurants.

... at Egg Harbor. Rob and I joined in the fun and had a great time. We spent a fun evening at Jason and Kristen's Albertson's house. We all contributed something for dinner and the kids had a great time on their zip line. A large group of us went to Jacksonport County Park for a cookout and a day of kayaking, catamaranning, and swimming. Great fun however the water is still a cold 55 degrees in Lake Michigan. Elena and Cole are close in age and really had a ...

Anyhow, we fished with spinner bait and caught a ton of bass spawning up and down the river.

The water getting there was rocky and shallow but crystal clear and amazing. Wish I had a paddle board, some sunshine and Texas heat.

We wrapped around 4pm, and now I am working, packing and wrapping my head around the fact that we will lose 8 hours and be in Sweden on ...

... we get the onion rings too? It was all delicious even if our stomachs couldn't quite keep up. Nice stop, great company, easy to get to from the freeway. Thanks!

Then up the back way on 42 to Sturgeon Bay. We enjoyed the views of Lake Michigan, hard to believe that it's only a lake. We were on a time schedule now though as we had tickets at the Peninsula ...

Arrived yesterday afternoon at Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Staying at a campground where our dear friends Robin and Steve Albertson have a permanent site. We have a site very close to them and can see the bay from our site. This is a beautiful place. Had plans to stay 5 days but have decided to extend it to 8 days. Spent the day traveling up the ...

... the 'Door' part of it stuck. Wisconsin is quite proud of it's tragic maritime heritage. At each state park there is at least one informational display about a shipwreck off the coast, complete with details of the ship, how it met its end and photos of what wreckage still survives (complete with scuba divers).

It's ironic that such a lovely place has such a calamitous lineage. I don't remember where I ran across mention of Door County when I ...
