    Phil - the market is good in the morning till 1.00 pm, then they pack up and the restaurants take over the space, all very dignified. The beaches are long, but all rocks.     We got up late on our first morning in Nice... we needed some recovery time after such a long day of stressful driving. We made some phone calls about the car as it was making a loud noise & whatever the cost of excess for insurance I wanted to exchange it.

    ... the bikes and sat awhile on the stones - put the toes in the water but it was pretty cold.

    Bought some salad veggies and fruit for lunch, plus a serve of the local speciality 'socca' - chick pea flour and olive oil baked in a pizza oven on enormous round trays. Delicious!

    ... spoiled when we reached Montecarlo as the seating stands and other paraphernalia for the Grand Prix are still everywhere. But what a pretty city! The old architecture is just gorgeous. However, it was incredibly windy there today and not much fun to be in it for long.
