... Rufio spotted two seats on a second story patio overlooking the sea, so we took the opportunity to enjoy a snack with a view. As it turned out, The Ark was a tapas bar, which was perfect to satiate our hunger without spoiling the birthday dinner we had planned. We ordered sautéed razor clams, patatas bravas and glasses of rosé to enjoy while admiring the Mediterranean vista.

We then continued our walk to Park du Chateau, the remains of a 12th century castle and the ...

... as Nice was by day, it wasn’t unusual to see people more or less discreetly peeing in the street behind a mailbox. I did not feel in any way unsafe, but let’s just say that the garbage starting to pile up on the sidewalk and everyone else frantically trying to get home after a long day’s work on a rainy evening changed the atmosphere a bit. I arrived at the cathedral at 6:15 to locked gates. With my luck, the church was ...

... cold this woman was. She's from France so I wasn't expecting her to ask me how I was doing, but when I asked her if she understood english at all, her response was "BEN NON" as if I asked her if she'd like to eat raw chicken. Many eye rolls and big sighs later I got what I wanted. Having been out the night before it was the last thing I wanted to deal with, so I immediately went to a "Booster Juice" type place to self-sooth and the friendliest human on ...
