After lunch we boarded the bus again, this time with a local guide, headed for the artist village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, about 10km inland. This is another walled medieval town, whose modern role is as a centre for an artistic community. Its narrow streets are lined chock-a-block with art outlets, many featuring artists in residence.
