ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilman... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city IŽd love to visit once a year minimum.....
Nice, Provence, France tilman... Not only have the donations received already far exceeded my expectations, but the kind words and general interest and support that I have received have been amazing. So thank you all. It is all very much appreciated and I can't believe that between us we really will change these little lives. It is my motto here in Antibes, but this is the ultimate "think globally; act locally ...
Antibes, Provence, France marianner... if we want to via a plug in the side of Scooby. We've only hooked up to mains twice and found that we can charge all our gadgets from the leisure battery without running out of power. Laptop, Camera, phone, iPod, eBook and GPs. The fridge goes 3 ways off Mains when plugged in, off battery when the car is running and off gas when stationary. Mad Mary We have a GPS with EU maps installed. She was christened Mad Mary by the previous owner due to her sometimes ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74... Dee tentatively organised herself an appointment for some 'girly stuff'. She had inquired at the hostel if they knew of anywhere, as she was a bit scared to wait til Spain, unsure of what she might end up with. After locating the recommended place, Dee tried to explain what she required to the lady - who spoke no English - so there were some very amusing hand gestures. Dee was dreading the experience slightly as she hoped her request had been understood ok. She should not have stressed as ...
Nice, Provence, France dan-and-dee... some beautiful views over Monte Carlo. If we thought that the cars and boats in Nice were impressive we hadn’t seen anything yet. The boats in Monte Carlo are amazing! I’ve never dreamed of owning a boat but I wouldn’t mind some of the ones we saw in the marina there! We also had a group photo up there and it was where Relle and I started our photo projects…
I was taking a photo of the street near the palace and Relle walked into my ...
... From there we drove an hour into Cannes, the home of the International Film Festival. This glamorous and expensive coastal city is home to luxurious mansions and prestigious hotel. Monte Carlo and Monaco are two other popular cities within the region, home to F1 and Grand Prix racing and where Grace Kelly became Princess to Prince Rainer.
Nice, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France vernsadventures... went to the after-bar that stayed open til 4 a.m. and took shots. We had baby guiness shots, jaegerbombs, and many others. Aaron walked home and Chace and I went with the two Irish girls. We got back to their place and they snuck us in the hostel. We get in there only to realize that we are shacking with these girls in a room with 5 other girls. They started speaking in Gaelic which made Chace and I feel uncomfortable. Chace was on a ...
Nice, Provence, France jgreezy... day. We started out wandering the town as a big group, but Garrett and I were hungry and started to get frustrated that nobody was making decisions on what to do (you know how that goes)... so we went off on our own and decided to make a mini-splurge on a really good seafood meal. SOOO GOOOD.. it definitely made up for the weird hotel dinner from the night before. The last stop of the day was in Eze to tour the Fragonard Perfumerie. I guess it was pretty cool... but I ...
Nice, Provence, France hahn105... with B&B and Cannes, a night with Alexis sitting by the beach drinking more cheap wine from the corner shop and seeing the sights. which included a hike up a hell of a lot off of stairs to a ruin of an old church that was built in the 11th or 12th century with a waterfall and heaps of cool path ways with different viewing points over Nice. We are off to Milan in Italy on the train, Pizza and Pasta time. Bye for now
