Well, Bangkok is hectic, and lots and lots of shopping...I have become a shopaholic since coming to Thailand, bad bad thing, I actually bought a suitcase in order to put all my purchases in it...thats sad huh? Anyways, Bangkok is awesome, met my new tour group and Chiang Mai is next on the list, trekking for 3 days...aka 3 days without a shower!
A travel blog entry from Bangkok by aesmith113So, we are all back from our hiking in the middle of nowhere..got to ride an elephant, and I was the only one brave enough to go on and ride on the head of the elephant, which was fantastic. Then the next day we took a bamboo raft down the river for about 3-4 hours, which was fun as well, and none of us wanted to walk the 5 hours that we were su...
A travel blog entry from Bangkok by aesmith113headed to the Chadachuck market to meet up with the others for a midmorning bevy, then a quick look around, got lots of beads ... I've moved on from DVD's at least. headed to the tailors for a fitting. then to Banyon Tree Motel to go to Vertigo bar - very cool, is on the roof of the building, quite pricey but worth it for the view. Met out tour...

A travel blog entry from Bangkok by alannareevesArrived in Bangokok and got completely slapped in the face with the humidity - it is unbelievable. Turns out the air con in my room at The New World Lodge Hotel is, naturally, broken so Lucy and I sweltered last night and woke up a sticky mess...cold shower no 36 in 24hrs was well-justified. It is a great city if you can look past the sewage, sm...
A travel blog entry from Bangkok by caz_sykesWell let the games begin. I've decided to try another travelogue, as it's a good way for me to remember what happened during my days over here. Photos are all well and dandy, however, there's more to remember about a trip than a photo can offer. That's why I'm writing this. If there's grammatical and spelling errors forgive me, as I can't ...
A travel blog entry from Bangkok by chowieI am writing this too long after the fact to provide the dramatic force it all deserves. I feel quite guilty about it too since my parents were kind enough to actually mention their excitement at finally appearing in my travelpod after reading it for so long. They made it sound like they were getting to guest star on a TV show they w...
A travel blog entry from Bangkok by daneThis morning I took a tour group to the floating market for about half a day. It is about an hour away from downtown Bangkok. basically, it is a market floating on a series of canals where you can buy everything from fruit to shoes. It is busy with both locals and tourists and seems to be different prices for each. It was very interesting to wat...
A travel blog entry from Bangkok by jkrukewichArrived in Bangkok at 5.55am and waited in Passport Control FOREVER! Some woman got really angry she had to wait so long and she started hitting the poor Passport Control woman, so she hid under the desk...pretty funny way to break the boring monotony of waiting in the passport control area. Arrived at my hotel (New World Lodge, locat...
A travel blog entry from Bangkok by trishigirlArrived back in Bangkok and went out to Khao San road to experience Songkran! It was CRAZY, there were 100,000s of people out there in the streets getting soaked, it was an amazing experience. I had a bit of a bad experience though! My sunglasses broke the night before, and I couldn't find somewhere that sold them in the ...
