... marks of respect I saw in Beijing), but I also witnessed what appeared to be a choir practising in one of the temple rooms, and one of the bigger more fancy rooms had monks and nuns (are they called that in Buddhism?) walking around a statue of Buddha, chanting. The sounds of people chanting, singing and worshipping throughout the temple complex lingered and made this holy place come to life.
