... landing back in Busan, an odd thing happened....I actually felt like I was home. I never thought I'd say that about Korea, but it did feel that way. And I was actually looking forward to coming "home", eating Korean food, and being able to speak with people. I never thought I'd say that, but it was a nice feeling! That is, until I was shoved and bumped and confronted with rude and inconsiderate Koreans- and I realized that yes, I AM home. The good and the bad!

Despite a wonderful, relaxing night in our traditional hotel, Satoshi woke up feeling quite sick this morning, probably from the lethal mix of fried pork and jet lag. We dropped our pack's off at Manami's apartment and Stash decided to stay there and sleep off his sickness. With Mrs. Yamanaka as our guide we headed to Nagoya castle, stopping first at a very small local shrine ...
Nagoya, Chubu, Japan allmystrings... 300 SL, a DeLorean, a VW Bug, an Austin Mini, a Tucker, a Toyota Land Cruiser, and a Nissan 280Z. I found it quite pleasing because I would defintely put the gull wing Mercedes, the bug, and the mini on any list of the most famous cars. The 280Z certainly has an argument for greatness in causing a revolution in reliable, affordable sports cars and the Tucker and the DeLorean are easily arguments to support for 2 of the 8 most famous cars ever. And the ...
Nagoya, Chubu, Japan jkirbyWell, it's the middle of October here, which means it's time for Nagoya's big shindig: the annual festival. Somehow in three and a half years of living here, I had never managed to catch it. I don't know how I missed it the first two years. I can chalk it up to simply being "out of the loop" (as I often am) in 2003. Dunno what happened in 2004. Last year I had it all planned out, but got sideswiped by bloody Aichi World Expo. In the fever of "international friendship," the ...
Nagoya, Japan xerius... scientific (like the macaraina) and I can't seem to get some of the motions down. We'll be leading them through the 'Ya'll Ready to Get Funky' song at the beggining (Kyle's favorite). The lyrics go something like this ... Ya'll ready to get funky? (free dancing for about 30 seconds) Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump! Turn a-round! Walk! Walk! Walk! Walk! Run! Run! Run! Sit down, stand up, jump up high! Let`s have fun at ECC! (?There's a flap your ...
