    Load washing 100yen, $1' dryer 300yen 1.5hrs. Breakfast 8am, leave hotel 11:30, taxi to Shinjuku station, Train from Shinjuku to Tokyo Station, semi express stop at 4 stations out of 10.     ... for 5.5 of the 8km hike. That said, the last 2.5km into Magome was a steep downhill so walking either way would have been challenging. The way we did it the climb was more gradual....still up hill though! The scenery was great and as we got closer we got to Magome we ran into a gentleman providing tea and refreshments to weary travellers.
