      ... because the place hadn’t been cleaned or touched up since 1996. Holes, scratches, damage, lack of decorations, brown water in jacuuzi, broken aircon, broken wifi, door that would not lock, etc etc. A buzz kill as I thought we were upgrading.

      ... where it's supposed to be all 'happening' however having arrived at the beginning of the low season it was far from crowded. The beach itself is as you imagine, coconut laden palm trees, white sand, clear seas and warm water..... Slightly too warm if your hoping for a cool down.... Poor us...!

      ... the bar for some lunch and a shake before taking a nap and getting ready for the full moon party.

      Had a light dinner on the beach with cocktails, then got on a boat at 10pm to go partyyyy! The beach there was already packed with people when we arrived, so we found a good bar for a drink and boogie. Had a really fun night, Kate thought the toilets were 'rank' although I've seen worse! Left the party pretty early due to having a bit too much to drink - oops!

      ... proud she had managed not to throw up. We got a taxi to the airport, where we hit our first major stumbling block. At the ticket office we where told that every flight that day to Bangkok was full as well as every flight the following day, that's 20 flights a day so the next 40 flights to Bangkok where full.       ... the night. Once the group was painted and the cameras were put away it was time to head into the party. To sum up the full moon party – buckets, a sea of illuminous people, more buckets, ring of fire, limbo of fire, water slide, more buckets and dodgy street pizza!!!
