Summer Vacation!! Whitewater Rafting!! Mountain Climbing Adventures!!! Soaking up the Sun on the Coast!!! Nope none of the above, turns out Korea has a wet season that would make Noah cringe. A lot of roads and villages washed away and wouldn't ya know it, so did our plans for all of those things I just mentioned. Not the biggest deal, instead Lyndsay and I headed for this nation's capital to see just what kind of city life Korea has to offer. The train ride from lowly Chuncheon to the big ci...

... The good part is that no one reclines over top of you - the seat back just slides down into the pod, and the entertainment screen is well placed, but you would have thought that if they were going to spring for the pod-style seating they would have just gone all the way to a lie-flat.
Also, the video was loop style (have to wait for the movies to finish, rewind and start over) instead of AVOD (on demand) which was a bit disappointing. The food was decent ...
... i was petrified they would figure out who i was or notice what i was doing! d somehow figured out what i was trying to tell him and stayed on while the girls got off. the door closed and i quickly pushed 15. he looked at me like i was crazy and i'm sure the guy who got on with us on the basement was thinking the same thing! i told him who they were and we got off on the 15th floor and waitied it out, laughing hysterically. thank god.
... got on the green in few enough shots to be allowed to putt and put the ball in the hole.
The next day Justin went into Seoul to see a palace and that evening we went to the gym and then went to Lenny's flat to play some wii bowling. We had to get ready for the real thing, which we did the next day!
Wednesday morning we went into Seoul to the Olympic park from the 1988 Summer Olypics held in Seoul. The park was a blast from ...
... been caught up in this horrific nightmare. And foreigners do boast about what is happening. Hopefully, by speaking out, I can be a voice for change.
Last night, I dreamt this really odd dream. I usually don't remember my dreams. Or just remember only snatches of it so that I can't really describe what the dream was about. But this dream affected me enough that I woke up remembering it. I think it ...
... outside of a mall around Christmas! Then imagine a Buddhist temple on the street. It is very peculiar, but it seems to work. Plus, this is very accessible for the Buddhist Koreans in the surrounding neighborhoods. The temple was lovely. Many temples for Buddhists to pray and meditate. This is also the home of several monks whom I saw walking the grounds.
Oooo, also.....alst week we finally went out for my favorite Korean dish! (I ...
... but there is also something here called "yellow dust ", and on days when it's bad, people are advised to stay indoors or wear face masks). Once you figure out the map and get used to the Korean names, getting on and off the subway is so stress free that I am a huge fan. I've started and finished a couple of books on the subway and thoroughly enjoy the people watching. While my sister Francie prefers ...

My preparation for the model teaching had been affected on Wednesday, when it emerged that somebody had hacked into my paypal account and paid themselves £400! Thankfully my Mum had emailed me after receiving a suspicious call about authorising a transaction, so I was able to frantically contact my bank, who immediately ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. rich... pretty cold temperatures. We then had a Korean BBQ lunch (more like a feast) with Jeff & Michelle. For those who have never experienced a Korean BBQ, imagine a table with a hot coal fire right in the middle of the table. The waitress then brings out raw meats and vegetables which you cook and season yourself. Add side dishes of kim-chi, pickled vegetables, rice, salads, and some soups and that is a ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. willa_andrewI was really excited about going to Korea and had very high expectations of the place (brought on by an addiction to Korean food and soap operas). But just before I left, I had several friends tell me there was nothing to see, the food was neither here nor their and the people were rude, which made me start to wonder if I might be setting myself up for a big disappointment.
Shouldn't have worried. Almost from the moment I arrived at the airport, I loved the ...
