... get really warm. I walked a couple of kilometers alongside a river and could hear it getting bigger and wilder with each step. The path changed to a paved road and after 4 hours and 15 minutes of hiking i was back in the civilized world. After 30 minutes the local bus came to bring me to Tokura. Inbetween the busy days in Tokyo i had planned 2 days of hiking in a national park. In my preparation i checked a couple but they were either too far away or the hike would just take too long. Until i found a Oze national park, just 3,5 hours from Tokyo and relatively easy to do in two days. The first day you'll walk mainly through marshlands and the second day takes you around the lake in the park.

... and the colder temperatures in the mountains, the cherry trees were just blooming. It was really beautiful. Then we went to lunch.
After lunch we visited a 400 year old Zasso-Sikuri house. The family of 48 people all lived on the first floor. There was a wooden ladder to the second floor where they used to raise silk worms. They no longer do that.

Finally in our room on the second floor and it is simply stunning. Everything about the hotel location, design and fitout was stunning.
Down for a thermal spa in the men's public bath house. Indoor and out
Dress for dinner to be served a degustation meal of traditional Japanese food. Eight courses later we are absolutely stuffed but feeling very privileged.
As the wi-fi service is not good, it is back to our heavenly room for a good sleep on large single beds.
... but minus the bubbles and it is completely naturally heated. As it was still raining we did put the umbrella over us to try and stop the cold rain from spoiling it. After a nice soak in the onsen we were both feeling very relaxed.
