... afternoon and so went to the beach for a few hours. By 3 o’clock however, the blue skies were giving way to grey and I just made it home before another storm broke. This time it lasted for some while and as darkness fell the rain seemed to have brought out a lot of flying insects. ... also the girls who graciously sat through the lesson all over again. The boys were as rowdy as ever, it was very hot and I was glad to get the lesson over with. In the taxi going home, however, I was surprised and cheered to hear the Veronica and Nadine had liked this school more than the others and hadn’t found the poor discipline a problem. They claimed that they liked a class to be lively!

... I should have guessed that, after all the effort, it was going to be a disappointment. It was pleasantly situated overlooking the beach but only had a narrow frontage onto the sea and was enclosed on both sides. There was nothing special about the decor and I was their only customer and so the atmosphere was not exactly buzzing. The food at Rabeang is always of a very high standard and of course I had no problem in getting a table right on the water’s edge. ...
