... to be flowing from left to right. When you stand in the center, the river appears to flow from top to bottom and when you stand on the left side the river appears to flow from right to left. Such clever people, I can not imagine how they did that. There was a similar tapestry in the Vatican Museum.

When we completed our tour of the palace, we were left on our own to wander through the gardens. Several white peacocks joined ...

Yesterday left Positano. We took a shuttle to Salerno then picked up a car from Avis. The coast road from Positano to Salerno was truly breathtaking and the driver quite friendly and tried to explain a few sights along the way. Headed south and stopped at some Greek ruins in Paestrum which dated back to BC. Weather a little cold and rainy or we probably would have stayed longer. Took the scenic root to Marina di Camerota. Stopped at Bascillicata and had a late lunch at a little pizzeria. ...

... to celebrate Shirley's birthday - fabulous food at Ristorante Delfino - ourtside the heavens opened.Day 5 - Tom and I started out early for Capri where we were lucky enough to catch the blue grotto - lying on our backs in a row boat - the entrance is not very high. Tomorrow we are off to Naples with Kellie - she has friends there. I'll post this now - our only wifi is in a coffee shop. Rome on Sunday - not sure about ...
