We stopped here for lunch and sat outside at a cafe - a treat to find I could have a tuna melt on gluten free sun-dried tomato bread - delicious! One of the strangest things we've ever seen - Gum Alley - an alley literally with the walls covered in used chewing/bubble gum - sounds revolting doesn't it, but it has a certain art to it! ... which we love but unlike Spain where most of the roads and sidewalks are incomplete or have big holes in them, everything in Santa Barbara is just perfect. It is very relaxed and has a holiday feel to it, but with excellent shopping and dining facilities. The Population is about 80,000 but there are more than 450 restaurants, due to the volume of tourists that arrive everyday of the year and sometimes stay for weeks at a time. ... and I came back at 9:00 PM. I have never walk that much before. I was so exhausted when I came home and I had a blister between my toes (I had the great idea to wear my flip-flops all day long.) However, I discovered a lot of things and it was a nice day.

Must say they are cute little devils. This one was eating a flower near the parking station. They are so lovely.
Ken dropped me downtown to shop by myself for a couple of hours. I went to macys which was great. Similar to myer but cheaper. Then went to a little store and grabbed some lollies for some people. Met Ken and we had a burrito each for lunch, very yummy. Of course far too much food. We could have shared.
