New Dream Hotel
Travel Blogs from Athens
... even begin to describe how grateful I am to live in a place where it is not socially acceptable for men to act like that...truly awful. When I left my hotel this morning to catch my flight, I had a 15min walk to the metro station. It was still dark and I was extremely nervous but I didn't really have any other option. As soon as I walked outside, four drunk men got out of their car, followed me, and yelled at me the entire way to the station ...
... the top. The hike is very bio diverse with cacti and aloe along the trail. The view was amazing.
We headed to the bus to travel home. But first: stopped for a waffle cone of cinnamon and honey gelato, the best I’ve ever had!
For dinner, Kelsey and I tried a new place in town. I ordered calamari and it was not as exciting as anticipated. It was frozen, and not really native to this area. I’ll have to try again in Santorini!

Well, Athens is turning out to be interesting. The place has had an economic hand grenade thrown at it and you dont have to go far to see it. Opposite our place is a beautiful colonial style hotel that's been boarded up. it's a testament to the people of Athens that it hasnt been plundered or wrecked. it's just there, no for sale signs, just a statement of what's happened here. The sad bit is that it'll never return to it's former glory.
