... to an incredible swimming pool 11km outside of pokhara. A number of volunteers in the area also have tomorrow off, so they've also offered to share some of the costs and help us make sure the kids have an amazing (safe) time. I'm very excited. Hopefully I'm feeling 100% again by tomorrow. 9 AUGUST I had a very restless night sleep, but I'm feeling much better this morning and can't wait to take the kids swimming today. Despite the van (small 4WD) arriving an hour late, we somehow fit all ...

... steak. Once we got the flames down to ambers things went smoothly and the meal was quite good. Definitely an experience doing a BBQ for 15 people in Nepal. After dinner we had a few drinks in our rooms abs went out to Amsterdam bar. The bars close at midnight so it wasn't too late of a night but we got there around 9:30pm so we still had a good time and I had a good dance. Tomorrow we leave at 7am for ...

DAY 1: Taxi from Pokhara to Nayapul (90 minutes)
TREK TIME: 10.30am-3.30pm
Nayapul to Tikhedhunga

In my opinion probably the toughest day even though it was one of the shortest. It was 36 degs and there was absolutely no shade in what seemed like forever. Jason carried our main backpack which ...

... bridge. Mind you these guys are like goats, and very experienced .
We've reached 3390 metres and spent the night at Samagaan. The last few days have become increasingly remote. Some of the locals are less friendly, but today we arrived at a surprisingly large village surrounded by snow capped mountains ! Incredible scenery ! Only a 3 hour walk today for acclimatisation . So we take a walk to the Birendra Tal Lake, along the way passing a deserted ...

... 360 view. The highlight was getting to see the peak of a mountain taller than 8000m. We were trekking downward by seven. With the snow still crisp below our feet we had to try and make it down below the snow line. Once the sun was up the snow would become super slippery. Luckily we made it almost all the way down; as for the last fifteen minutes I slipped three times and really had to watch my steps.

Once out of the snow we made excellent time. It took four days ...
