... there was a bus today, as they came running from all sides in order to get on. How to get on a full bus? Easy, you just jump on the side of the bus and hang on for dear life. It did help for the balance of the bus, tough. At one point the driver got very excited and pointed towards the other side of the hill. He showed us a small white spot quite some distance below a road and it turned out that it was a bus (like ours) who had gotten off the road and had tumbled down the hill. ...

Well it turns out that a full day rafting and few beers is the perfect combination for a great nights sleep, even if it is in a tent with a 'mattress' / yoga mat for comfort – we slept like logs! At around 7am we got up for breakfast and there was a fantastic view back up the Marshyangdi Valley with the snow capped peaks of some of the Annapurnas in the distance.

A quick breakfast of toast and porridge, fuelling us up for the day ahead we got back in the rafts and carried ...

The morning was really clear and we had some great views of the Annapurna Range from the teahouse. We wanted to leave at 7.30am but hadn’t quite perfected our packing technique so eventually got going at 8.00am. ... I even got to try and carry one of their bags for a few seconds ! They carry it thanks to a band on their head and all I can say is : respect ! It was extremely heavy and definitely very uncomfortable on my neck ! I've seen a lot of porters on the trek but none as smiling and funny as them ! It was a great experience being around these people for this trek and I really hope the next time I'll be in the region, it will be with people as amazing as these guys ...
