The New Clinton Hotel & Spa Miami

... join in the celebration, had a lil chat with the whole group. Walked up Miami Beach taking in the landscape. Passed lots of classic pimped out cars back on the main strip. Had a warm up beer for the night out at one of the bars on the main drag. Dressed up to meet the dress code of the club shirts and trousers, in 35 degrees with 100% humidity, we got really sweaty. Luckily the whole club was air conned. Caught the party bus from the hostel to Niki ...
I woke up at 8:30 am this morning and still thought it was the middle of the night. But then I peeked and saw that Mom was up and looked at the clock. I figured I should probably get up, even though I really wanted to go back to sleep. Our first port of call on the cruise tomorrow starts at 7 am, so I need to get used to getting up early.
Our room was on the side of the hotel, so we had a view of Miami Beach and of downtown Miami. Very cool. It looked warm and sunny ...
... We checked into our room on Level 6. This ship has 11 levels with staterooms on levels 2-9 with food and beverage outlets filling the top 2 levels. We headed to the bar for a drink to watch the ship cruise out of Miami. It did, then it was time to get ready for dinner. One bag arrived safely, the other was on level 1 for a security check. It was eventually retrieved and it was off to dinner. First port of call is Nassau in the ...

It wasn’t something that we were there to talk about, but it was important to understand him as an artist and it gave us something else we needed to add to our list of things to think about in Cuba.

... in 1986, but when we arrived we had trouble finding it. One of the hotel bellman told us that in fact the mural was gone because the building had been demolished to put up more condominiums! The main hotel was still there complete with 4 pools, green bar and the usual luxury shops. We were told we could go and take a closer look at the pools, but some punk at the gate wouldn't let us.
We rode back down to Lincoln Mall where we stopped ...

I WOULD NEVER STAY IN ANOTHER SO-BE HOTEL AFTER CLINTON...
I just returned from my first trip to south beach, and I must admit, I was a little scared going down there how the hotel would be. From reading online, I saw so many hotel horror stories, I didn't know what to expect. I chose this hotel based on it being new, simply because I am a neat freak, and I cannot STAND old and dirty places. Well, this hotel was AWESOME! From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty, car doors open, bags taken to our rooms and car whisked away by the valet (yes, they do charge, and it's $16 per day with unlimited in and out privledges) which actually was a steal, try finding a good parking spot in south beach for under that price-not gonna happen. The hotel lobby is really nothing too overlyfabulous, but clean and cute decor. Yes, the elevator is dark, it's only lit by a purple neon light, and yes..the hallways are dark as well but in my opinion this added to the uniqueness of a hotel you could only find in south beach. For the person who was scared of the dark, well I'm not sure what to tell you, i guess this isn't the place for you, but please be assured that during my stay I did not see any shady characters or funny business going on.
Everything at this hotel is awesome. From the attentive valet parking staff out in front of the hotel (which costs $15) to the actual room itself, this is a hotel that you could check into and never want to check out! The hotel was recently remodeled, and they spared no expense. Everything is done in typical Florida art deco fashion, very modern, clean, and luxurious.
What can I say? I got hung up on when I called room service...a dirty napkin rolled around my silverware. Did I mention I am a woman and the hotel hallways are extremely dark? But worst of all when I returned from a dinner meeting my room was infested with not only bugs but larvae...even in the bed. I got a new room but in the morning when I told the front desk I had forgotten my cell phone charger in my haste to pack and get out of my bug infested room...I was questioned as to why I would have done that. I was then sent up to the room to get it and found the bugs were still there!
I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before selecting the Clinton Hotel South Beach. I am very very picky about where I stay on vacation and I'm one of those people who always stay at the chain/brand name hotels. I must feel safe, the rooms must be exceptionally clean, the staff must be friendly, and the location has to be perfect. I took a chance and stayed at the independently owned Clinton Hotel and it lived up in each category. The size of our room was that of a normal hotel or even slightly larger. The bathroom was nice and large as well.
Great hotel !
Clean, clean, clean. Branding spankin' new everything. Staff extremely helpful, very accomodating (late checkout ok'd for free). Room small but not SoBe small, very well maintained. Last year I stayed at the Chelsea -- it was not all that...
Excellent Front Desk Staff
The hotel was brand new and very clean. The beds/linens were wonderful.
The front desk staff was wonderful and helpful. This hotel would serve the corporate community well, it doesn't cater to the spring break type at all and therefore it is very quiet, unlike a lot of hotels in southbeach. It's a great hotel, but I will say the following: the windows only opened an inch in the rooms, the maid was incompetent and didn't restock or clean properly to include tp and her timing was awful, she would show up at 5pm, the pool was more like a jacuzzi and the rooms were a little small. But again, the hotel and staff in general were very good. I would personally prefer staying on one of the beach properties near the delano next time.
Great boutique hotel two blocks off Ocean Drive
The Clinton Hotel in South Beach is in a great location just two blocks off of Ocean Drive in South Beach. It's got a very good asian inspired restaurant and well appointed (if somewhat small) rooms. Everything was very reasonably priced and the staff was very helpful. This isn't your average "corporate" hotel, but then again why would you want to stay in a generic corporate hotel when you're staying in South Beach? It's got character and that's what makes it special.
Far from great...and raunchy
The best word to describe this hotel is "scuzzy" This will make sense to you after you check in, proceed to your room, and note the shadowfigurine of a playgirl which appears on each guest room. Believe me, this hotel is far from great, and ityou get an "eerie" feeling while staying there,as if there is "something else" going on in the hotel..
