Ever since we arrived to Weifang we were treated like VIP. They took care of us from the moment we arrived. ... first stop was a huge art Exhibition at the massive Shandong-Taiwan Convention and Exhibition Center. We saw the aforementioned exhibit put on by the school that we visited first the day before. The center was of epic proportion and filled with hundreds of booths where artists sold work ranging from paper cuttings and embroidery to kites and massive wood furniture. Finally, about 7:30 PM Fan Yan and the Primary School principal took us to a stadium where we saw some elaborate kites with blinking lights, some flying in groups with coordinated moves, others as singles. It was cold and windy but the crowd was enthusiastic. Back to the hotel about 10 pm with instructions to be ready at 7:20 am with luggage packed.

... James' unfortunate cold, our troop hasn't faced any other hardships thus far. Joey is one of those “I'm allergic to the world” people, but that doesn't seem to be too much of a big deal. Though I do think that by the end of the trip I will be all out of bless yous! Speaking of bless you, I've learned that the Chinese don't have an equivalent for that phrase....just a fun fact.
