... airport arrivals area now has a few nice coffee shops where one can get a sandwich or noodles and a decent beer.

We got a great taxi rider that took us directly to CIYH, in about 30 minutes from airport departure. CIYH wasn’t as bustling as in the past and the English level of staff was noticeably lower. Yes, I'm a day behind, but what's new. It's Saturday morning and I'm writing about Friday morning. Vennie is an English teacher and had classes until after 3 pm. I awoke to discover my lack of drinking water, but fortunately I had just enough in my water bottle to add an instant Latte packet and shake it up good to go with the bananas and a mini-waffle packet I brought from Yongzhou. ... China High-speed Railway (CHR) train taking less than 2 hours to get to Changsha. The tickets were only 121 RMB (just over $20) plus the ¥5 surcharge for not buying them at the station. What a deal! I was elated. I had never tried this, on my own, before. That was a first event.
