So today was mostly a travel day. We had to leave our beautiful hotel in Hong Kong by 7:15 am, so caught a quick breakfast there. Leah was happy to order the traditional Chinese breakfast - congee, dim sum, noodles, and a chocolate croissant. Ok, the croissant isn't traditional, but it was really good. The first time I suffered one of these freak showers was on Labor ...

After a very gloomy March, April had a more positive vibe. Even the weather has improved dramatically. Compared to the rest of China, Changsha has two specific seasons. The cold season and the hot season with a day in between which acts like a school caretaker, sweeping the previous season away ready for the next. The only aspect of the weather that hasn't changed is the erratic nature. One minute the sun is baring down on my back, the next there is a monsoon which almost ...
