... having to sustain a young boy throwing paper airplanes at me during my English classes, another spraying tea all over the classroom during the hokey-pokey, and one even trying to steal my class candy. (in the same day as my lovely exam) There was also Mom’s last day here, which involved above mentioned Llama Temple, Sichaun food- a beautifully painful cuisine, and the Temple of Heaven. There was also a trip to a Chinese Wal-mart somewhere in the midst of all this. The ...

I'm finally here

The last night in America was also my first night ever experiencing Las Vegas (since I had been 21). It was definitely interesting and a good time. I got to hang out with my brother and some of my friends from Boise. I gambled a bit and drank a beer with my Dad. I didn't get into bed at our hotel till some time after 4 am. This plus the fact that my Dad didn't think we needed to be at the airport 2 hours before my flight made me miss my 7:01 am flight to ...

... ecstatic and sung the song before we settled down and conversed with everyone more. It was a really nice night in the end, we all sang songs like Eternal Flame and Bohemian Rhapsody. We saw Sammy and Faye's wedding pictures, which were not taken on their wedding day. Sammy wore about three or four different wedding dresses, most of which were western, but one was traditional dress. They were all lovely and some very comical. We finished dinner and went to bed.

Magic in Beijing

... place started clapping slowly, then speeding up with the music. Eventually the place was thumping. Everyone was so happy and exploded into cheering, it was amazing. During the games the Chinese and Greeks would chant together, the Chinese yelling "Jia Yoh!" (Go!) and the Greeks echoing "Hellas!". Jia-yo! Hellas! Jia-yo! Hellas! Jia-yo! Hellas! I don't think either side had any idea what the other was saying, but they didn't seem to care ...

... failed terrorist plots to disrupt the Games, including poison gas and bomb attacks on hotels and government offices in Beijing and other cities, and kidnapping foreign athletes and spectators. Sources also said they had received public reports on suspicious explosives and guns in apartments near the Olympic Village, but would not elaborate. To prevent possible attacks, authorities in the capital have instituted a raft of security ...

... shopping date with Zhang Han and Tony. Zhang Han has offered to take us to the local shops so that we may buy lots of cheap clothing, presents, souvenirs, etc. We arrive back to the hutong at 5pm, so decide to explore this area further before meeting up at our lodgings. Along the main street, there are several shops selling guitars (seemingly the preferred musical instrument in this part of town) as well as a few restaurants and local ...

Forbidden City

... Starbucks should be allowed a vendor's lease there. Apparently they left on their own. One Chinese CCTV9 commentator remarked that Starbucks was once the best coffee but now they are just average and so it was good that they were leaving because the Forbidden City should only have the best. She never did name the best coffee and admitted she still goes to Starbucks. So you see stupid people are not just on American TV.

Puking and proposing

This morning I wasn't feeling too hot..I woke up about 2:30am with a rumbly tummy. After sitting on the pot for awhile, I couldn't sleep and knew I was coming down with something...I just didn't feel right. I went online and found this blog site and started writing my blog. The entries are a little backwards...I started writing this one first and then went back to document my previous adventures in China. Anyhow, after a rough ...

It was opened to the public in 1925 and consists of 69 hectares including a 39 hectare lake ...
