The snow road is definitely an experience. The Japanese spend weeks in March digging out the 8kms of road that was closed it in late November. The last Sunday of March the road is open for pedestrians and then the next day it is open for vehicles. Driving it today was ...

... had to reach out the side window and grab for the driver's side wiper so I could lift it off the glass and then let if pop back down knocking off the ice. Nice having a small car where just about everything is within reach.

Last lesson of the day,.......when you go out driving in the snow, you might want to have suitable winter footwear :o)

... down the loop trail. It was great having my little "silver bullet" thermus I picked-up here in Japan on my last assignment. Not sure how they do it, but the hot chocolate I put in this thermu at 0700hrs still burned my tongue at noon! But it was still yummy :o) As was the locally grown apple I enjoyed and a few snack items I had.
