It was miserable! Pouring down with rain and drizzling intermittently. So I grabbed my PAC-a-mac, which I had thought wouldn't be necessary for the trip (and extra tops that I will probably never wear for the entirety of this trip took priority over the packing of my proper raincoat) and figured that I'd set off for Newport anyway. ... in...a B&B which apparently costs over $200 per night! We then passed a B&B that Martin Luther king stayed at in Oak Bluffs whilst he worked on his 'I have a dream' speech. Whilst waiting for the return ferry I had a quick peep at the shops in Oak Bluffs and quickly realised why only celebs and millionaires had homes there! This was pretty much an early day. We left Martha's Vineyard at 5AM.
As we passed Woods Hole (5:45) the Captain left the pilot house and
pointed out the features of the area, primarily the Woods Hole
