... car may well still have coffee splatter all over it. Needless to say, we got out of there pretty speedily and headed for our train.

We managed to get stamps in our passports – probably the only time that will happen on this trip! We were boarded onto the train by an Italian chap who later walked passed us again with his friend saying ‘this is a nice car, very pretty girls’….and so it begins…

... place that have a pink elephant on and we worked out it was a beer brewery. We were then told that there was a 'Delerium' village where there were a collection of bars selling their beer. ... Erin and Liz. Liz dislocated her knee and is still continuing to backpack around Europe. So props to Liz! We made a giant salad (none of us had eaten vegetables in a while), boxed stuffing, and wine that was actually grape juice. I was glad that I didn't miss out on Easter dinner even though there was no turkey. I spent 2 nights in Antwerp and then caught a train to Paris at 7 am the day before my birthday. ... equipped kitchen which allows us to cook and refrigerate stuff. The kitchen is also shared amongst two other rooms but as there is no one else here it is pretty much ours!

The only downside to this place is that there is no television in our bedroom so if we want to watch the olympic games we have to go downstairs to a communal lounge area. Other than that, this place is very good! It's comfortable and has a homey feel to it, probably due to the rugs and bric a brac ...

... hard work. We needed some rest.
After lunch we used a pedestrian and bicycle tunnel to cross the river and take in Antwerp's skyline from the left bank. It was a nice walk over and back. They have elevators and escalators to take you down and up so the walk under the river is flat. No sweat, no rain, just a nice walk.
Tomorrow: Nijmegan ...
