We went to the clubs afterwards because it was the direction of the best Donner I had ever eaten. What a disappointment when we found that they got rid of the black sauce... The black sause was the heart and soul of the perfect donner. I hope they come around to bringing back the black.

... the fun! I eventually found my way to the English Garden and saw the usual: the Chinese Tower, the Eisbach surfers, the beer gardens and Diana’s Temple. The English Garden is HUGE, possibly bigger than Central Park. I didn't even see half of it, but I had to get the bike back by 5:30, so off I headed, via Marien Platz again. ... no one (at least in our tent) was being a ******. There is lots of security to keep everyone in check, but they weren’t needed. The only downside? A 1 litre stein is big, equivalent to three average Aussie beers. I drank four in about 2 ½ hours, and my motor skills started to stall on me. But then you realise you’ve had about 2 six packs worth in less than three hours and think, well fair enough. We left the beer tent early evening, jumped back on the bus to the campground. ...
... in a dodgy hotel with a stupid lock system on the doors that we couldn't work out. We ended up just jamming open the door to our room so we didn't have to deal with it drunk! Then we headed out to a Munich beer hall and drank Steins of beer, and ate pork knuckle! Pork Knuckle is AWESOME! Luke looked so disappointed with his chicken that i gave him half my pork. ... a mere 15 minutes to take in the exterior of the palace, it was breathtaking. Fronted by a couple of large, tranquil ponds where swans and geese swam, the palace itself stretched before us in all its creamy white grandeur. We delighted in hand-feeding the swans and watching them crane their necks to reach the bread crumbs before their squawking competition. That was a first for Hannah and it was fun to watch her reaction as one swan in particular elongated ...
