... visa is prepared and ready for collection.".... I'm speechless... 2,5 hours late. If it had been ready before 16:00 the previous day, I would have still made it on my Thursday flight...... But that's life. - Thursday 12:30 - passport picked up by courier in Finland. - Friday before lunch - me and my passport arrive to the office at the same moment! Me from my hostel, my passport from the airport. SOUTH AFRICA, HERE I COME AGAIN!!!
Munich, Bavaria, Germany eix... which ended at Oktoberfest, so i was good early and only had 2 Liters, cause that is all you can order there. I got to see the famous Haufbrau house and other famous Brau houses in Munich, 30% of the Beer that Brewaries produce gets consumed during these 16 days, crazy huh? Anyway today was a good day but kinda sad too. I did a tour of Dachau concentration camp, and let me tell you if that doesnt make you think and realize what we humans are capable of i dont know ...
Munich, Bavaria, Germany indigosb... with all the women in shrouds until K made the comment that whenever he saw one his mind linked them to ninjas). Met Lenny and the crew, took a pee in a nearby restaurant (anywhere that serves alcohol has to open there restrooms to the public), Lenny gave us a history of the surrounding buildings including some dude building a second bridge there to compete with another northern bridge, drunken monks taking forever to build walls and buildings while also ...
Munich, Bavaria, Germany treeoche... was a divine way to relax your muscles (especially the feet) after a long day of walking. Another was its location. Not only was it close to the Marienplatz and right on top of an S-Bahn stop, it was also across the street from an Aldi (a small supermarket with great prices). We bought breakfast - mostly yogurts, fruit, deli meats and cheese - everyday at the Aldi, a delicious and filling meal for about 5 Euros total (for both of us).
Munich, Bavaria, Germany brikis98... Frei (Work sets you Free). We hired a couple of audio guides but couldn't work out how to use them. Over the weeks ahead we would use the same sort of device at a number of places and I never got the hang of them, though Margaret soon mastered their operation. I didn't mind as I found them something of a distraction from the ambience of the camp. The ranks of barracks had been dismantled after the war but four had been reconstructed ...
Dachau, Bavaria, Germany cullism... of time to himself working on stocks and probably taking a little nap. Christoph returned home around 6 and then we headed off to the 'Old Hotel' for dinner. Another great Bavarian meal but tomorrow we are in for a different style of food, a whole new language and a new currency.....I will be sending a photo clue if anyone feels like playing the game of guessing where we are off to next. We hope that everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. We definitely did here.
Munich, Germany jimstephkrueger... the tram back. When the tram stopped at our stop the guy I was helping threw up all over these two poor little asian girls. I ended up just pushing him off the tram and the whole group just stood there and watched him throw up all the beer he drank (which was about 2 1/2 or 3 liters) and the baguette he had for dinner. It was gross and I felt bad for him. When we got back I basically just went to bed because I was so tired. The next morning, we met Dr ...
Munich, Germany dachocochick... taking care of us and showing us the locals side of Munich. Weċl be waiting for you to come visit New Orleans so we can return the favor! There are a few new pics in the pic section of things we did and saw so check them out. If nothing else, they are good for a laugh. Next stop, Prague! Mooners Baby!
Munich, Germany themooners... away! The next day we pretty much did our own things during the day, and hung out in the afternoon and evenings. Day two I took the Free Munich tour, being picked up by Robin at the hostel, and dropped off at Marienplatz Square to meet the rest of the tour led by Aaron. The Canas toured the city by foot on their own to window shop and see the random sites-I would have gotten so lost! The tour was really fun, and I ended up drinking my first Munich beer at 11am, and another ...
Munich, Germany nessamilan... leaving me in an aisle seat next to a rather stout German gentleman. The contrast between Italy and Germany was apparent as soon as I stepped into the modern, spacious, clean and attractive Munich airport. No beggers, litter, grumpy old people or taxi drivers hawking for a ride. The airport is in some postmodern style with lots of metal bits poking out everywhere. It is very, very hot in Munich today, so the airconditioned bus ride ...
