... I made sure to get some Apfelstrudel before I left! The train ride was was short, it was actually quicker to take the train there than it was to train to the castles the day before. We got to the hostel and set up camp near the tv playing THE SOUND OF MUSIC and watch it like one and a half times! We planned on doing the The Original Sound of Music tour the next day so we wanted to freshen up!

The Deutsches Museum was the next stop. It was massive in size but a lot of the exhibition weren't in English. This was disappointing since the Museum specializes in technologies and mechanical history, and unfortunately my German knowledge was very minimal in these areas. There were also hordes of school children shrieking unnecessarily at everything they saw. But of what i could understand, it was very fascinating.

... to get to the grounds nice and early so we could get into one of the bigger tents and avoid the crowds of yesterday. The first day was fantastic, but it was somewhat subdued (thankfully) and we were looking to experience the real Oktoberfest.
